Milan is about to host the Universal Expo 2012 named “feeding the planet, energies for life” and it will reflect on these themes by dedicating a precious corner of city to the urban agriculture. During the Design Week, the Leonardo's vegetable garden (Palazzo delle Stelline) will host an installation projected by architects, landscape designers, agronomists and artist belonging to the urban re-qualification project Liveinslums.

During the Farm Atelier workshop, held in collaboration with the Naba Milano – Politecnico di Milano Master “Paesaggi Straordinari”, Liveinslums will starts up a food production by adopting a agricultural technique, experimented in African countries (in-bag agriculture) and a vegetable straw-bale column.
Everyday the garden will host debates and international conferences concerning themes related to environmental and feeding topics, with the aim to present to the city a renewed location, proposed to be used, lived, grown and respected. This place will be hosting workshops and didactic courses with the goal to accost citizens and agriculture, and to produce a concrete example of commitment of the community towards the next expo.

The project has been cared by Valeria Gulotta and Andreina Di Maio and is patronized by: Assessorati Provinciali di Milano (Fashion, Events, Excellences, Expo), Regione Lombardia, Assessorato all'Agricoltura, Provincia Regionale di Palermo e dall'Assemblea Regionale Siciliana.
